The Waihora Ellesmere Trust and the Department of Conservation are hosting a Predator Free Trapping Workshop.
Come and hear from a number of speakers and talk to the experts regarding trapping mammalian predators. There will be displays and information on a number of traps.
The Waihora Ellemere Trust with the support of the Department of Conservation are beginning a predator control program at Yarrs Flat Wildlife reserve on the shores of Te Waihora / Lake Ellesmere. The reserve is an outstanding area for wetland birds including migratory species. The Trust is looking to build a team of volunteers to service the traps.
Lincoln Envirotown are working on a number of initiatives to get people trapping in their back yards and local reserves. You will have the opportunity to speak to these community groups and to register your interest in their projects.
