The fourth Living Lake biennial symposium will be held at Lincoln University on November 7 & 8, 2013.
The focus will be the current state of the lake and the actions underway to improve its health and biodiversity.
Day one will present the ‘State of the Lake’, and what is being measured in order to manage effectively. This will cover many aspects including governance and management, recreation, water quality, wildlife, vegetation, fisheries and cultural values.
Day two will focus on how we are managing what we measure with short updates from community groups, primary sector organisations and central and local government programmes, along with updates on a wide range of research currently underway.
WET is working closely with Environment Canterbury, Ngai Tahu, Department of Conservation, Fish & Game NZ, Selwyn District Council, Christchurch City Council and Lincoln University to develop a fantastic programme for the two days. Mark November 7 & 8 in your diaries now!
